Oneta offers an extremely privileged position. Within minutes you can access the most spectacular dive sites on the Great Astrolabe Reef (and in the world!) or snorkel in the manta cleaning-stations, or fish the abundant fishing spots…

• Diving courses for beginners and advanced, as well as superb diving.
• Snorkeling along the Great Astrolabe Reef and/or with the manta rays at their cleaning-station.

• Hiking on tracks with incredible views, or to waterfalls in the middle of the Kadavu jungle.
• Bird-watching. Thousands of red-footed boobies and brown boobies return to nearby, uninhabited Yabu Island every evening.

Authentic Fijian culture.

Many visitors to Fiji will tell you that the most memorable part of their time here was the interaction with the Fijians and local culture. On an outer-island location like ours that experience is at its most authentic.

There are several small villages within walking or close boating distance of Oneta Resort. We can arrange for you to visit these communities and their schools, and to attend church on Sundays if you wish. We are in the process of finding Fijian craftspeople in the villages who can teach guests how to make crafts such as woven mats, baskets, carvings and coconut oil.

At least once during your visit you can take part in a lovo — a feast based on the traditional Fijian cooking method of food wrapped in banana leaves, cooked under heated rocks. It’s part of a beautiful night of drinking kava (another ancient Fijian tradition) and singing Fijian songs. If you’re a musician, feel free to grab a guitar and contribute your own musical offering.

Your stay at Oneta.

Oneta is built in an authentic Fijian style, and sits on 70 acres of beachfront property. Stretching across the long expanse of Oneta beach are three lovely bure (cottages) and two beautiful villas.

You’ll see an extensive vegetable garden and many different kinds of fruit trees throughout the property. The resort runs almost entirely on solar power and our water comes from a spring above Oneta that is one of the best in Fiji.
